I have changed.  I am changed.

I am also Queen of the Obvious!

But there!  I said it – I got it out of the way.  We can move forward.  :)  haha – ok I’m not like COMPLETELY changed.  My sense of humor is still about the same.  :)  which let’s be real – that is a HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!!!!!

You see, I LOVE to laugh and I think I’m funny.  So the fact that I STILL think I’m funny?!?!!  Wahoo!!   :)  :)

Anyway I’m only mentioning this because I’ve done moderately well at being “adjusted” despite my – umm – well – my life.  I’ve tried to maintain a happy perspective, I’ve worked at being optimistic and I’ve NEVER taken the “why me?” attitude; though I have most certainly wondered about the purpose of life.  But I’ve adjusted; I’ve adapted.   I’m still here and most days I’m still laughing.  :)

Let me share with you my new favorite-est-est-est song!!!  I’ve mentioned that my BF and I have a soundtrack of US.  (you should read it the story – it’s cute) And this song makes it on the list.  The lyrics ring true in my heart.  I love J, and I WOULD carry him around even if he were an old school 50lb boombox, and I’d hold him on my shoulder wherever I walked, and turn his volume up  in front of the cops, and crank it higher every time they told me to stop. hee hee ;)  Yes – My heart’s a stereo.

Ugh.

Anyway – back to the one sided convo – I’m good at these….

North Sydney got a similar email.  And no – I’m not bitter AT ALL!  nope nope nope – I’m in a FABULOUS mood.  hmphf!!

I suggested to SOMEBODY that we check it out and he was all like, “That could be a bit dangerous” and I was like, “Who said anything about a repeat performance?” AND THEN WE HAD A TEXTUAL MISUNDERSTANDING!!!

You all know what I meant by that right?  No?  Was that cryptic?  Was it written in American?  Because I really tried to write it in NOT-regionally-dependent-English. AGH!

Here’s WHAT HE READ, “I’m not pashing with you again and I was performing/faking enjoying pashing last time.” wait a minute.  Umm … ???  But didn’t I just say … wait WHHAAATTT???

Oh boy. [shake head and deep breath – hold it – keep holding – exhale)

And they say girls are hypersensitive and read too much into things?? Geez!  He sent a text saying, “You were performing?”

WHHHAAAATTTT??????   So I sent a follow-up “No no. not at all! I meant u rumblin’ on the roof.”

OMGOSH! wowsers.  The Texts of My Life.  Sa-sa-sa-sa-soooooooo much fun.  Or not.

Oh and then today N. Syd (who I talk to like EVERY SINGLE DAY) was like, “K so I’ll see you soon.” And then I was like, “Yeah except actually we don’t have anything planned – so when will that be?” and he was like, “I don’t know because I suggested a night but you already have plans with #3.”  Umm …. WHHHAAAATTTT????  oh.my.gosh.  Well if he wants to be all WHATEVER about it let me just remind the world that I SUGGESTED AN ALTERNATIVE NIGHT TO PLAY w/N. Syd and he said HE WAS FREE THAT NIGHT but refused to “pencil me in” because I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHY.  But for.real. heaven forbid I already have plans on the ORIGINAL night he wanted to play.  Grrr.  jealousy? I don’t THINK so … but come on now – what’s up with that?  (that emoticon makes me laugh btw – that’s why I use it.)

Next up – a little side work for a ~friend~? And NO – not like THAT.  It was just some simple admin stuff.  And then he took me to dinner and we talked for hours and then he took me home (and NO – not like THAT) and then he gave me a lingering kiss which I don’t want to read into … but also wouldn’t mind reading into.  But probably shouldn’t – it’s complicated.

Got home and had this email waiting – don’t mind that my ENGLISH uni teacher SPELLED CANCELED WRONG!!! Dude for real?  She’s an ENGLISH TEACHER!!!!  Ever heard of SPELL CHECK??

Dose Duex of Daisy’s Dad’s 500lb Pumpkin Quest

Day 4 -  “Oh happy day.  I saw a root starting to come out of a seed.  A little more probing and I found 3 more seeds that had germinated.”

Day 5 – “Okay, I couldn’t wait.  I transplanted one or two plants into their new home, a 1″ x 2″ pony pack (4 compartments per container.)   Prodding of the soil tells me that many of the seeds have germinated.  (What have I done?  How will I find home for all of these sleeping giants?) ~No kidding dad!  You planted ONE HUNDRED!!~ The first leaves are just starting to emerge from within the seed’s outer shell.  It’s amazing how fast they are growing.  Within a couple of days they will be ten times the size of the seed they once were.  What will tomorrow bring?”

OMGOSH – what WILL tomorrow bring?  If this keeps up I won’t be surprised if we hear next that my dad’s pumpkins have turned his house into the little shop of horrors and I’m going to have to fly home with an ax and save my parents from man-eating jack-o-lanterns.  What you don’t think I’m tough enough to wield an ax to man-eating jack-o-lanterns?  Think again doubty-pants.  It’s called ADRENALINE.  And I’m pretty sure I’d have a bit of it.

Ok on to the most IMPORTANT-est things for today – well for right now.  I was flipping through my text book to waste time (I am an amazing time-waster ) and I found this:

And I was like, “Say whaaat?  My textbook has a section on EMOTICONS??”  THEN I was like, “omgosh – no way!  I LOVE emoticons!” And THEN I decided that my textbook and I must have been fated to each other.  And THEN I decided to read the whole 1.5 paragraphs on emoticons.  And THEN I looked at the handy chart they put in my textbook.  and NOW I’m wondering why I keep saying “and THEN.” ?? oh well.

So according to my book emoticons are really important.  HAHA!  I KNEW IT!  When I created the tag, “Emoticons make me happy” ages ago I KNEW it was because emoticons are SO IMPORTANT-est-ish.  You see, “Emoticons are a way of denoting emotion when communicating on the internet,” because “when communicating via the computer, we cannot hear voice inflection, nor can we see the funny, naughty or sad emotions of people’s faces.”

Tuesdays are soooo long.  I’m out of the house by 8:00am and don’t get home until after 8:00pm.  What do I do all day?  School.  Gee whiz – super fantastic.  Anyway – at about hour 7 in my school day I got really really bored (I had a break between classes) and I thought – “A QUIZ will relieve my boredom. And NoooOoooOooo this is not a wikipedia picture – I took this one all by myself – TODAY. I didn’t die (yeah yeah – I know) and I finally fell back asleep, only to be woken by a buzzing.  Bzzzz.  Killer spiders and now killer moths AGAIN!  Apparently announcing my woes last night in my blog resulted in their recurrence.  (Wait – Daisy – do moths actually buzz? – I don’t know – but what else could be buzzing in my ear in the middle of the pitch black night?  Don’t answer that – I may be less scared of moths than whatever your answer is.)

Ok so I was up and at it by 6:30 this morning and you can imagine just how chipper I was after a night of almost no sleep.  Superduperchipper.  Though my mood lightened a bit when I caught the early bus which ended up being slow; HOWEVER it was filled with hotties.  Superduperhotties.  Man oh man – if only I had understood that correct train/bus time is critical for superduperhottie stalking I could have filled up my name page with like 40 more boys!!!

My first class was through this door.

Did I mention that I’ve switched from the Uni of Syd to the Ghetto Jungle?  I just hope they have hip hop inside.  Hip hop makes everything better.  No seriously – it makes everything better.  Even ice cream.  And pancakes.

Ok – that was weird.  Moving on!  I liked class number 1, I also liked class number 2 and I thoroughly enjoyed these local hang outs:

I noticed a couple interesting things on campus today.

1. My skirt was too short – but not as short as everyone else’s dresses and shorts.
2. I look as young or younger than many of the undergraduate students.
3. I’m about to turn 27 and there are 19-22 year old men/boys eying me.  I think this makes me a cougar?  Hmm … I suppose I’m ok with that.  FM’s GF and I discussed (outrageously!) that maybe to celebrate my entrance into the late twenties that I should date someone from every age between 19 to 26 before 2010.   That’s quite a lofty goal – 8 men in one year – but considering I went on 7 dates with 7 different men in only 6 days back in January 2009 (yes – it’s true) – I may be able to swing it.  AGH!  I’m a shocka!!!  The only difficulty with this “aspiration” is that I still have a stupid crush on CC+4 even though I know I’m being ridiculous by still having it – and since I’ve decided to look for substance I just don’t see how I can look for substance AND date hot boys based on their age.  Darn it – there goes that fab idea out the window!
4. Spicy Salmon rolls are NOT as good as Salmon and Avocado rolls.
5. And if I swing it correctly – lunch time could become my new networking/social endeavor.

Ok so this post is already outrageously long!  So I’ll sum up the rest of the day with a couple pics:

First Day of School Picture – I’m not sure what I’m listening to – probably one of the kick-A songs that CC+4 sent.  The “Hot Thing” one was sweet – but “Pop the Glock” was even better.  There’s also a chance I was listening to some Meiko – I love her songs “Reasons to Love you” and “Piano Song.”

What a crappy pic eh?  Oh well – on to the next.  First semester I met Bruce -  he is a kindred spirit and a life saver!!!!  Pic from Semester 1:

It was amazing to catch up with Bruce – he is like a wise fortune teller.  Except he doesn’t predict the future.    He just has an uncanny knack for really understanding the HERE and NOW.

Next I saw the following sign – wteff?  and I learned another latin dance.

So there you have it.  A VERY long day.  Very very long.  I didn’t get home until midnight and feel like I haven’t slept for days.  I am SOOOOOO crashing tomorrow – and maybe doing some reading on the beach.  Which btw – I have some great points to make on the book “How To Win Friends and Influence People” – so maybe I’ll get to that this week.  Oh and I haven’t forgotten – I need to post my cricket video!  YAY!!!

Does anyone else salsa dance?  How long did it take you to learn?  I seriously suck.

Now that’s a pretty strong statement for me to make and I feel the need to clarify what I mean when I use the word “gossip.”  Information sharing and gossiping are two very different things.  For the sake of your attention span I won’t give in-depth explanations of how I differentiate between the two – let’s simply say that in my mind gossip is:

• sharing information with the intent to harm;
• sharing information recklessly without concern for the harm it may do;
• sharing non-essential personal information with or without the intent to harm which may do harm because of its sensitive nature;
• spreading indirectly sourced information;
• or spreading or suggesting any information that you do not KNOW to be true.

So back to my previous assertion: Those who gossip lack character.  And “character” is something you ought not to lack.

My friend “Frenemy #1″ is a gossiper.  And though she usually sticks to the facts (though still gossip)- as of late – and probably because she has always had a thing for CC+4 – she’s stretching her “facts” a bit (which btw – that’s a sugar coated way of saying she’s a big fat liar.)  I live my life in a way which dispels her gossip and so I never have to worry about a tarnished reputation.  But this time her gossip impacted someone else in relation to me – CC+4.  And that’s just not cool.  When she drags people I care about into it … well … that’s when I kinda go from lamb to lion.

I don’t even think CC+4 cares about the gossip – he hasn’t mentioned it to me.  Or maybe he’s sparing me from the drama back home??   I don’t know – I only know it’s a small world with FB and I found out anyway.  The gossip?  It was the kind which called the shared religious values of CC+4 and I into question.  And in a predominately religious community such as SLC – that’s some of the worst gossip around.

The thing is – I’m not perfectly polished in that area of my life anyway – and I could stand a little burnishing (score!  WOTD used in a sentence again ) but the things she said were untrue and quite frankly a little malevolent. 

I am going to let this one go.  And while I let this slip under my radar – I’m finally going to let Frenemy #1 aka Mrs. Know slip under the radar as well.  Scott Pete has been encouraging me for a long time to cut her out of my life – and now that I’m like maturing and growing and stuff I think I’m finally ready.  I don’t need people like that in my life.   Especially when there are sooooo many wonderful people out there.

Ooh – it’s late.  I totally should be asleep right now – I have school tomorrow.  On Saturday.  I have school on Saturday – LAME!  And double lame because it’s Valentine’s Day!  Ah well – it’ll keep me distracted from the fact that MY sweethearts (which are none other than my adorable dogs Duchess and Chloe – aw – they’re so cute!!!!) AND any potential Valentine (like CC+4, Adorable Boy or Glitter Boy) are all 8,000+ miles away.

So I’m going to sign off for the night – tomorrow I’ll have to tell you about the crazy movie I saw, the yummy popcorn I ate and maybe I’ll even tell you about the new kindred spirit I’ve discovered (would you ever have guessed it’s one of guys who used to be one of the slackers in my group at school?)  lol.

Anyway – today I am happy to announce that I have discovered I have Extraordinary Obvious Pocket Locating Pow-ah (Power). Are you impressed?  Because you should be.  You see, as I mentioned in the linked post above, superhero powers that are a mouthful to say are better than those that are not.  And that means Extraordinary Obvious Pocket Locating Pow-ah is awesome by the title ALONE.  HOWEVER that’s not the ONLY reason why this power is so flipping sweet. No no, this power rocks because it gives me the ability to hide/store stuff – like cool superhero stuff – like lipgloss. 

Want to know how I discovered this cool power?  I found a “new” pocket on one of my skirts today and then – the VERY SAME DAY (which is still today) – I discovered that the “decorative” pocket on my super fly new hat is actually functional! Decorative AND useful. How cool is that?

So anyway – that’s my BIG news for today. Extraordinary Obvious Pocket Locating Pow-ah.  I can’t really top that.  It’s just too cool.  Oh wait – omgosh – I ALMOST forgot!  I can’t TOP that but I do have other important news.  I’ve fallen in love with lychees.  Have you ever had a lychee? (spelled “litchi” in the U.S.) YUM. I LUV them.

Ok – better start my homework. I’m the only one in my group who does the reading so I have to do 3x as much. Have a happy Friday! And please feel sorry for me as it’s going to be a scor-cha tomorrow (spelled “omgosh it’s so hot I think I’m going to die” in the U.S.) with temps close to like 1,000,000 Celsius and at least 134% humidity.  That’s hot.  So hot I won’t be able to wear my super fly new hat.  But hey – at least I’m a superhero.
