I’m leaving on a Jet Plane

Oh – what a classic song right?  “I’m leaving on a jet plane.  I don’t know when I’ll be back again.”  This song fits me today.  I’m headed back to Sydney in a couple hours and I literally have no idea when I’ll be back.  Things are up in the air with school right now – I could be back in March, May, June, or depending on how things go I may not be back in the States until November!  Yikes!  That’s a long time!  I’m going to do everything I can to at least come home for Winter break in May-July but who knows??

I’ve had 3 promises for visits this next semester.  Oh how I hope they all come!  I would LOVE some American visitors!

CC+4 is taking me to the airport today.  Ordinarily I would NOT allow this.  A BOY taking me to the airport?  What?  Puh-leezz.  I have family to do that for me!  But then my mom said with a bright smile, “Am I taking you to the airport?”  Say WHAT?  Like that was even in question!!  So I looked at her like “what the eff?” but of course didn’t SAY that and she continued:

It’s not that I don’t want to take you to the airport but it’s just that – well – I just kind of figured maybe that CC+4 might take you.

I stared at her blankly and with utter disbelief.  I never mentioned ANYTHING about him and the airport.  The thought hadn’t even crossed my mind!!

Well I just thought – you know – maybe you’d want him to take you…

Skepticism was the next to cross my face.  I’d want him to take me?

Well of COURSE I want to take you but if he offered to take you I wouldn’t mind because it’s really hard for me to say goodbye at the airport.

Oh my gosh.  Why didn’t she just say so?  LOL!  Ok – so saying goodbye sucks big time.  I agree.  I always cry.  :( But let’s be real – if her ONLY motivation for my finding a new ride was to spare herself a few tears she could have asked me to have anyone take me.   :)  LOL!   Aw – my mom is a bit of a romantic!!  And thank goodness CC+4 offered to take me to the airport without my having to ask!  lol for real.
