Daisy’s Photo Journal – DAY TWO – part two

I think I left off the DAY TWO – part one – about the place where we were going to head back to Davide’s so that we could do a little chilling on Bondi Beach.

So that’s where we’ll start here today.

But before we start – I just have to say I’m SOOOO happy that my thing today wasn’t as bad as it was supposed to be or as bad as the last one!! lol – you can read about it on my other blog .. but yeah … thank you to everyone who checked in with me!!! You are all the greatest!!! The Dr. said “good news” and I think he actually meant what he said for once – lol – happy days!!!

Ok … so we drove back to Davide’s house and learned the words “Recalculating” from Samantha our GPS guide. It was the first million of two billion times we would hear the word during our trip. It meant we had taken the wrong route. lol – we sure got lost a lot and poor Samantha had a LOT of recalculating to do.

But we finally arrived at Bondi beach … pic below:

Time to play!!! It was gorgeous, not very crowded, and the weather was fantastic!!!

And although I played in the water too – we didn’t take any of me. And NO I’m not lying. I LOVE the water. :)

So a little more playing in the water … then it was time to play in the sand…

And that’s when Shezz pointed out all of the new tourists that had shown up…

My my … what are they doing?? Don’t they know self portraits often turn out better? ;) I pull out the camera to demonstrate for Shezz…
Next – a few self portraits …

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I know – I’m such a goof!!! But it makes my life more entertaining. :)

lol – HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! The pic with the strange guy is the funniest of them all … Poor guy – for some reason (probably because he’s blind) he thought i was someone worth taking a picture with. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Then after he did – a few people lined up to do it too. HAHAHA! lol – my life is quite a trip sometimes.

Next – back to Davide’s place – but a quick pic with some graffiti first. :) and notice the half smirk. Shezz told me it was time to break out of the sultry phase and try something new. lol.

So yeah – fun times. Now that we’d wasted even MORE time posing … it was REALLY time to get back to Davide’s. We both wanted to shower and get “fresh” before he arrived. It was time to pull out the trusty digital camera sugar cookie trail to get back to the right street …

We made it home alright … the straight away to the showers!!! But wait – a quick look at the clock told us we had almost NO time to get ready!!! Big sucks!!! I was already super tired because I didn’t sleep on the plane – but now I had to go out on a date without the necessary dilly-dally time? Can we say “ingredients for being rotten?” lol. And NO – i don’t actually NEED 2 hours to shower and get ready but I LIKE to have that much time. :) Not everyday mind you – just on weekend nights. :)

We got to the Opera House and I was ROTTEN. Here’s proof:

And if you need more proof … too bad!!! I took a second pic just in the hopes that I could figure out how to mask my rottenness. NOPE!!! Still rotten … we won’t show that pic. Then I thought – well maybe if I take a pic with Davide I’ll look less rotten …
It was hopeless. I decided no more pics of me for the night. Though le
t’s be honest – Davide looks fantastic!!
To distract myself I took pictures of the pretty scenery. Here’s one of the Harbour Bridge.

We went to a play shortly after the picture taking … it was … umm … interesting. lol.

It was one of those “artistic” shows where you can just imagine the loony writing it and throwing his hands up in the air screaming “Brilliant!” He made it just crazy enough – just twisted enough – that he could try and claim that you would need the right intellect and artistic mind to fully appreciate it. And i did. Totally appreciated it. lol. I appreciated the fact that I could sit and daydream about what a nut job he was. I got to daydream about all the potheads who probably found the play “profound” and I even got to snooze a little bit during it. I REALLY appreciated that part. ;)

That was the first half of the play. The second half did me in entirely. He took his “brilliant” extremism and decided to depict the grief of someone who has lost a son, a brother, a husband etc. It was an anti-war piece that tried to take real emotions and paint them with “brilliance.” But those of us who have felt the full depth and pain of losing someone know that the emotion itself – the rawness – the realness – it doesn’t need anything else to make it “brilliant.” It holds enough power and depth to stand on it’s own. He missed the mark big time. Maybe it just hit too close to home – it’s only been a bit over a year since Brett died … but I did not have the patience for the nutty behind the art.
